At Val’s Vegan Bakeshop, we want to be fully responsible for all your vegan and gluten-free cravings, both sweet and savory.
Our story began in 2015 as a mother-daughter duo under the name “To Bake & Be.” From a small apartment kitchen, operating as a licensed cottage food business, Valerie and her mom, Sona, spent long nights baking vegan and gluten-free pastries, cakes, and treats, then delivering them fresh every morning to customers and coffee shops across Los Angeles.
With the encouragement of happy customers and a growing community, they continued to push forward. What started as a dream in a home kitchen grew into a rented commercial kitchen, a larger team, and eventually their first brick-and-mortar bakery, known as The Good Good LA — a location that still exists today.
While the name has changed, the ownership, heart, and commitment remain the same. Today, Sona continues Valerie’s legacy through Val’s Vegan Bakeshop, named in honor of Valerie. Her spirit, love, and creativity remain at the heart of everything we do.
Every pastry, cake, and savory bite we make is a reflection of that love, made with care, kindness, and the hope of bringing something good into your day.
